Industrial Service Technician is responsible for installation, fabrication, repair and maintenance of compactors, augers, balers, and related containers. This position operates company vehicles, equipment, and maintains compliance with safety standards and provides professional service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities of Position:

• Install, fabricate, repair, and maintain compactors, augers, balers, and related containers at customer locations
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and electrical components using schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting manuals
• Run electrical conduit and wire in accordance with applicable electrical code
• Complete required safety checks and inspections on containers, compactors, and related equipment
• Operate company trucks and equipment safely in accordance with state and federal laws, including proper load securement
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform all duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
• Maintain accurate records (time, maintenance orders, and parts usage) and complete service documentation and reporting in the company computer system or tablet
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers regarding service needs and status
• Support other shop or field work as needed to meet operational demands
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

• This position will not manage employees

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

• Excellent welding and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to weld, cut (torch and plasma), and grind safely and properly
• Ability to operate a forklift safely
• Proficient in the use and interpretation of installation diagrams and troubleshooting manuals
• Proficient with the use of schematics, wiring diagrams, and related troubleshooting guides pertaining to commercial hydraulic and electrical systems
• Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

• One (1) year welding and cutting experience required
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Knowledge of MIG and stick welding

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:

• Continuously lifting/carrying a max of 35 lbs
• Frequently lifting/carrying a max of 75 lbs
• Frequently pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
• Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
• Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
• Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
• Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
• Frequently climbing and/or balancing
• Frequently sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire
• Must have a at least 19 years of age
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
