Position: Senior BPMN Process Engineer (m/w/d)
Location: Germany

As a Senior BPMN Process Engineer (Camunda/Node.js) (m/w/d) at DNS:

NET, you design, and evolve our internal enterprise systems, build scalable applications, and guide the technical direction of both in‑house and external developers.

You will work hands‑on within a cross‑functional product team, shaping secure, performant, and user‑friendly systems that drive the company's operational excellence. This role combines full‑stack engineering with system architecture and delivery responsibility – ideal for someone who thrives at connecting code, teams, and business goals.

You are an experienced Fullstack Engineer who enjoys taking ownership across architecture, implementation and coordination? Then this is your place.

Responsibilities
  • Workflow design and automation: Model, implement, and optimize BPMN workflows using Camunda – from concept to production‑ready automation.
  • Service development: Develop and maintain workflow‑driven microservices and APIs based on Node.js and Type Script.
  • Integration and connectivity: Connect BPMN workflows with existing systems, services, and event‑driven components to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Performance and reliability: Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of automated processes within a distributed system landscape.
  • Collaboration and alignment: Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Architects on process design, system integration, and continuous improvement.
  • Security and monitoring: Implement security, monitoring, and data protection mechanisms across all process flows.
  • Clean and testable code: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with automated test coverage and clear structure.
  • Process orchestration: Analyze and resolve issues related to workflow orchestration and data flow – ensuring smooth end‑to‑end automation.
  • Continuous improvement: Document, refine, and further develop workflow standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Several years of professional experience in software development.
  • Strong background in BPMN process modeling and workflow engines (preferably Camunda).
  • Solid knowledge of Node.js with Type Script and frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (schema design, optimization, caching).
  • Experience integrating APIs and microservices in distributed environments.
  • Understanding of message queues, event‑driven systems, and asynchronous communication.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently in complex system landscapes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
  • Docker, CI/CD or Dev Ops experience.
  • Knowledge of No

    SQL or caching solutions.
  • Monitoring & observability.
  • Cloud experience (AWS or similar environments).
  • German language skills.
