Job SummaryThis Senior Software Engineer will tackle complex design challenges in the UK utilities market, process millions of meter readings per day, and build scalable data pipelines that feed into machine learning models. You’ll work on our AI‑driven platform for energy management, influencing the next wave of innovation and helping Kraken expand into new sectors such as water and broadband.
What you’ll do:- Design and implement domain‑modeling solutions for the UK utilities market, ensuring accuracy and maintainability.
- Build and maintain high‑throughput data processing pipelines capable of handling tens of millions of meter readings daily and feeding them into ML models.
- Architect systems that adapt Kraken’s platform to serve other utilities (water, broadband) and support future market disruptions.
- Collaborate across teams to develop AI‑driven communications, billing, meter data management, CRM, and advanced Customer Information Systems.
- Contribute to a culture focused on climate‑action, supporting our largest investor roles in solar, wind, and anaerobic digestion.
- Strong interest in technology and problem‑solving, with a diligent and thoughtful mindset.
- Proficiency in Python and a web framework (e.g., Django or equivalent).
- Experience with domain modeling, HTTP and REST APIs, and writing robust, fault‑tolerant software.
- Knowledge of Celery, async processing, and Postgre
SQL. - Bonus skills: AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul.
- Ability to speak Danish is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Fluency in Danish.
