Staff Quality Engineer (QE) Overview

Staff Quality Engineer (QE) has a combination of technical, leadership, and mentorship responsibilities. It involves a combination of high-level strategic planning, test execution, and process optimization to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

About the Role
  • Test strategy and planning - define test cases, test plans, and quality metrics.
  • Automation – identify areas for test automation and work with the team to implement.
  • Mentoring – work with junior QE engineers to guide them in best testing practices, review team members’ test cases, and results.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and delivery managers to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout development.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) – Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure that quality checks are part of delivery process.
  • Bug Tracking & Reporting – identify, document, and track defects, ensuring thorough communication regarding severity and impact. Provide regular quality status reports to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management – analyze potential risks related to the quality and stability of the product and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Leadership – provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineers, helping them develop technical and soft skills. Lead and coordinate the QA team in complex or large-scale projects, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to timelines.
  • Release Readiness and Deployment – Ensure thorough testing before product releases, including release notes, and critical fixes are validated. Manage test environments as they reflect production settings.
About You
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Proficient in test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of Salesforce and experience in testing Salesforce.
  • Testing complex CRM products and a thorough understanding of CRM architecture.
  • Former experience influencing junior Quality Engineers with better testing techniques, and test planning.

Base pay range for this position is: $108,900-$149,625
