The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end distribution process for all cannabis products, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a strong background in logistics, team leadership, and technology implementation to optimize distribution processes. The position involves managing internal and external logistics service providers, delivery routes, and performance metrics while working closely with the state‑specific Operations (Ops) team to meet demand.
Occasional responsibilities may include stepping in to make deliveries and ensuring proper display materials reach retailers. Daily schedule may vary Monday through Friday. Must be open to driving as needed.
- Compliance & Regulation:
Ensure all distribution processes comply with state and federal cannabis regulations. - Logistics Management:
Oversee distribution and delivery routes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. - Supplier & Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams, navigating the legal and regulatory nuances of the cannabis industry. - Technology Implementation:
Identify and implement technology solutions to improve distribution efficiency. - Driver & Team Management:
Manage delivery drivers, ensuring performance and compliance with regulatory standards. - Performance Metrics:
Track and report distribution network performance metrics. - Inventory
Collaboration:
Work with the state-specific Ops team to maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet sales demand. - Retail Support:
Ensure display materials and other promotional items are delivered to retailers as required. - Order Manifesting:
Accurately manifest orders and collaborate with the Ops team to ensure order accuracy. - Delivery Flexibility:
Occasionally assist with product deliveries when needed.
- You have a proven track record (ideally 2+ years) of managing distribution networks in highly regulated industries, with a particular focus on compliance with state and federal regulations.
- You have experience with inventory management systems, ideally using state mandated seed‑to‑sale tracking and inventory systems like METRC.
- You possess a clean driving record and driver’s license.
- You have strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
- You have experience using technology solutions to improve distribution processes.
- You have a depth of knowledge in inventory management, logistics service provider management, and delivery driver management.
- You demonstrate integrity and respect in all interactions, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
