Non-CDL Driver – Durham School Services

Location:

8101 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH (Bus garage at HS)

Hiring immediately – No experience necessary. Training provided. Sign‑on bonus of $500.00. Starting pay: $15/hr (training pay: $10/hr). Current walk‑in interviews:
Wednesday & Thursday, 10:00‑12:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or route‑specific vehicle.
  • Maintain highest ethical standards and personal integrity.
  • Report concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisors.
  • Arrive on time and keep routes on schedule while maintaining safety.
  • Assist passengers during evacuation in emergencies.
  • Report any accident or incident immediately per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policy around student and passenger management.
  • Communicate problems or procedures to appropriate personnel.
  • Present a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Complete required paperwork (route change sheets, time‑cards, vehicle repair requests) promptly.
  • Maintain cooperative attitude with colleagues, customers, and passengers.
  • Use vehicle equipment safely (wheelchair lifts, radios, emergency gear).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Additional responsibilities may apply for paratransit drivers at certain locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 21 (25 in Tennessee due to state law).
  • Obtain and maintain valid state license and required certifications.
  • Meet physical and medical requirements; pass substance‑abuse screening.
  • Successfully complete all training.
  • Practice defensive driving to avoid accidents.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local driver requirements.
