C.N.A.s working at the Continuing Care Center receive generous shift differentials, ranging from an additional $1.00/hr – $5.00/hr in addition to their base pay rate.

Salary Range: $22.50 – $28.50 per hour.
The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee’s specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.
Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full‑Time, Regular Part‑Time, and Part‑Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.

• Assists with resident/patient care needs and comforts including but not limited to oral hygiene and mouth care, bathing functions, dressing, nail and hair care, lifting, turning, positioning and transporting residents.
• Makes beds as assigned and keeps residents/patients dry when soiled.
• Assists with bowel or bladder functions and checks patients frequently to assure their personal care needs are being met.
• Assists with nursing functions such as measuring and recording vital signs, weighing, collecting specimens, preparing enemas, providing indwelling catheter care, performing diabetic urine testing, turning bed‑fast residents at least every two hours, and performing daily range‑of‑motion exercises.
• Provides daily care of dying residents, maintains accurate intake and output records, notifies nurses of patient behavior or physical symptoms.
• Performs food service functions: prepares patients for meals, assists with feeding, records food/fluid intake, serves between‑meal snacks, keeps water pitchers clean, and performs after‑meal care.
• Assists with keeping nursing and resident/patient care area neat, sanitary and orderly.
• Floats to the OVCH Acute Care Facility four times each year and appropriately records and charges for supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• High school Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Six (6) months of CNA experience performing Nursing/Patient Care duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility.
