Property Profile:
Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is a new resort with a casino totaling nearly 38,000 square feet, including 640 slot machines and 18 tables for blackjack, craps, roulette, and other house-banked games, plus a smoke-free gaming space with 104 slot machines and a high-limit area with 42 slot machines and four table games. Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. Primary responsibilities include fry cook work and assisting other cooks, Sous Chef, Room Chef, Assistant Executive Chef, and the Executive Chef in the efficient operation of the kitchen and assigned management.

Essential Job Functions May include but are not limited to:

  • Provides superior customer service, positively affects interactions with customers and employees.
  • Uses all equipment associated with the position, including choppers, slicers, mixers, grinders, and fryers.
  • Assists with preparation of food and supports all stations and lines as necessary.
  • Ensures items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition.
  • Stores foods properly and closes down work stations correctly.
  • Maintains cleanliness of working area; reports equipment safety failures, hazards and accidents.
  • Inspects and maintains areas of responsibility; reviews necessary documentation.
  • Moves around the work area effectively and efficiently; can lift, move, and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Flexible to work varying shifts.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and ability to prepare stocks and soups; ability to prepare all varieties of fry cook foods.
  • Must obtain and maintain licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Typically requires one to two years of experience; prior prep and fry cook experience required. Culinary Arts Degree or recognized apprenticeship preferred.
Work Environment
  • May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including secondhand smoke, noise, and constant interaction with the public.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk or hear; lift/move 20 pounds or more; vision requirements as described.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy.

The Tribal Council gives preference in all employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to Seminole Tribe members who meet job requirements. Second preference to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet job requirements.
