Job Summary and Qualifications

Directs and manages the operations and activities of the Med Surg department. Responsible for the overall management of the department’s operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established. Responsible for staff performance and accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accord with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company care and regulatory requirements.

Responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting as a liaison with patients and their representative, physicians, employees, and community agencies. Responsible for the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize cost.

The Director assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service. The director is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and appropriate resource management.

Qualifications
  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a full-time Charge Nurse/Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management

HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility in Okeechobee County. We offer inpatient and outpatient services. We are licensed by Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration as a Primary Stroke Center. We provide diagnostic services accredited by the American College of Radiology. Our Hospital’s surgical services include minimally invasive procedures. HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is a community hospital with state‑of‑the‑art practices.
