We have an exciting opportunity available for you to learn all the skills required to become a qualified tradesperson, within our talented Mechanical and Electrical team. You will be based in and around the Okehampton area.

The successful candidate will live within 30 minutes of this location. You will have an interest in becoming a Gas / Heating Engineer.

• Carry out regular maintenance jobs in customers’ homes.
• Learn from mentors with experience in gas/ heating.
• Work across several teams and locations; no two days will be the same.
• Travel daily to meet mentors at a Live West office or a pre‑agreed meeting point; travel expenses will be reimbursed.
• Work a minimum of 30 hours per week for the apprenticeship.
• Obtain and maintain a valid driving licence by the end of the apprenticeship period.

• Awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Good computer skills with the ability to use and update computerised devices (including handheld smartphone or tablet PC).
• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, or willingness to work towards completing Functional Skills Assessment.
• Desirable:
  Experience of working in customers’ homes.
