Qualifications

Job Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices.

Licenses and Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA license or certification. Current CPR certification is preferred.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
  • 0-1 years of experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living (ADL) training.
  • Help patients perform exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve their functional abilities and independence.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of patient responses, progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies for continued progress.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing observations and insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
