Multifamily Asset Managers (MAM)

Multifamily Asset Managers (MAM) is a private sector partner of Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and implements asset‑management core tasks under HUD’s Section 8 Performance‑Based Contract Administration program, focusing on project‑based Section 8 contract compliance.

• Conduct on‑site Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs) using HUD‑9834 for assigned properties.
• Perform approximately 7 MORs per month, ensuring findings are mitigated and HUD compliance is achieved.
• Verify and resolve Exigent Health and Safety deficiencies from recent inspections.
• Review owner/management compliance with HUD EIV requirements and other relevant regulations.
• Document findings in HUD Form‑9834 reports within 30 days and follow up on corrective actions.
• Respond to owner/agent inquiries regarding HUD occupancy requirements and keep up‑to‑date with new HUD regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and maintain accurate records and documentation.

• Five years of property management experience with multifamily, project‑based Section 8 properties.
• In‑depth knowledge of Section 8 rules, HUD Handbook 4350.3, and related HUD notices.
• Strong communication and written reporting skills, with ability to explain program requirements to owners, managers, and tenants.
• Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and ability to learn in‑house databases.
• Valid driver’s license; travel up to 80% of the time.

Employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 35 lbs; use of office equipment and occasional travel to properties.
