The File Clerk – Family Law part‑time position supports attorneys by managing client files, traveling to county courthouses/county offices to file pleadings/documents and coordinate with court staff to set hearings, as well as handling additional daily administrative tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines as well as reliable transportation.
Excellent client service is a must for this fast‑paced legal environment.

- Organize and maintain client files, with strong attention to detail.
- Schedule and coordinate court hearings with court staff.
- Communicate with legal professionals and government offices in person, and via phone, email and mail.
- Provide administrative support such as scanning, copying, mailing, and data entry in addition to maintaining the client‑facing presence and environment of the firm.
- Travel to courthouses and government buildings, in the designated practice areas, to facilitate the filing of pleadings/legal documents and coordination with stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail by carefully reviewing documents, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining organized records.
- Provides excellent client service by communicating clearly and professionally, maintaining confidentiality, and building trust with clients and community stakeholders.
- Manages time effectively by prioritizing tasks/ deadlines, and balancing workload demands.
- Contributes to teamwork by collaborating with attorneys, staff, and community stakeholders to support smooth case and project flow.
- Applies technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and document/client management systems to complete daily tasks efficiently.
- Uses problem‑solving skills to identify issues, seek clarification, and propose practical solutions.
- Adapts to shifting priorities and unexpected changes while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Maintains valid Oklahoma driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation for travel, and proof of valid insurance.
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a clerical, office setting with consistent travel to metropolitan and surrounding counties in Oklahoma. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part‑time position, requiring frequent travel to county courthouses and government buildings, with the ability to work up to 20 hours/week. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 5:00 pm. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with business needs.
Required Minimum Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training EducationEducation: High school diploma with a preference for some college experience.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong organization and attention to detail
Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation, and proof of applicable insurance coverage.
Preferred Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and TrainingEducation: Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience: Strong preference for at least 1 year in Legal/File Clerk role.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong organization and attention to detail.
Additional Eligibility QualificationsMust be able to accomplish all duties with little to no assistance.
