General Description:
The Student Affairs Assistant provides clerical and other general office support to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Reports To:
Administrative Assistant to the VP for Student Affairs
Current OCCC Student Status:
- Current OCCC Student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester.
- Current OCCC Student with a Federal Work Study award.
- Positive interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently.
- Ability to utilize a computer and comfort learning new computer skills when necessary.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Customer service work experience.
- Initiative and willingness to learn.
Flexible depending on student class schedule and needs of the department.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)- Provide customer service via the telephone, forward calls and take messages as needed.
- Provide customer service in-person to students, other college staff or faculty and to the public regarding information about the office or the College’s services and operations.
- Make copies.
- Input data into an electronic database.
- File and organize paperwork.
- Make deliveries to other offices or individuals on campus.
- Perform other clerical tasks as requested.
- Specialized computer assignments, as needed.
- Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
- Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
- Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
