Y Clubhouse Site Coordinator
Join the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City as a Y Clubhouse Site Coordinator. This role focuses on oversight and program development for children and teens in Oklahoma City Housing Authority communities.
OverviewUnder the direct supervision of the Y Clubhouse Director, the Coordinator will provide safety, supervision, leadership, and guidance for youth participants during each weekday, emphasizing YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. This hourly position has a variable schedule based on time of year.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and ensure the safety of children.
- Prepare and distribute after school snacks and weekend meal packages, tracking each meal served daily.
- Facilitate accurate check‑in/check‑out of participants and ensure attendance accuracy.
- Implement and execute lesson plans for scheduled program times, including safe program opportunities for all ages and abilities.
- Deliver standard‑based lesson plans for specified enrichment areas (literacy, SEL, supplemental, hands‑on) with participant abilities considered.
- Facilitate positive behavior management techniques and trauma‑informed approaches.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing classrooms and equipment.
- Facilitate one cohort of Getting Ahead classes per year.
- Work independently, initiating relationships with community members and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the Social Responsibility department, including special events, data entry, and administrative tasks.
- Must be current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
- Must complete all required Redwoods Trainings within 30 days of hire and renew annually.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 2 years’ experience working with children in a program or classroom setting.
- Interest in working with children and youth, exercising sound emotional maturity, moral character, judgement, integrity, and leadership capability.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.
- Safety certifications and required trainings upon hire per standards.
- Experience and training related to youth development programs.
- Must move freely and quickly through the facility and alternate program locations, including indoor and outdoor space.
- Must project enthusiasm to staff and program participants.
- Ability to work under occasional stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Walk, stand, sit (including on the floor) for long periods.
- Lift and assist children up to 50 pounds.
- Lift and carry supplies up to 20 pounds.
- Stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours.
- Bend, pull, crouch, lean, kneel, walk, push, climb, and jump.
- Communicate verbally and in writing, easily understood by children, staff, and parents.
- Supervise and respond to critical situations with children (visual and auditory ability).
- Move freely and quickly through the facility and alternate program locations, including indoor and outdoor space.
- Demonstrable experience leading community/agency collaboratives with attainment of SMART goal(s).
- Bi‑lingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
