Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver (CDL A W/Tankers REQUIRED) – Full-Time

2401 S. Broadway Ave. Moore, OK 73160, USA.

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company, is seeking an Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver to drive, operate, and apply tack coat to roadways ahead of the paving crew.

• Able to operate company vehicles in a responsible manner.
• Drive and operate an asphalt distributor by applying specialized emulsions to roadways, which are then covered by a chip spreader.
• Perform pre- and post-shift safety inspections.
• Know the machine settings to perform daily safety checks of fluid levels (oil, water, fuel) and inspect for leaks or damage before operation.
• Responsible for daily and preventive maintenance such as greasing and cleaning excess asphalt from tanks and spray bars.
• Typically perform a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates.
• Other duties as assigned.

• REQUIRED:
  
  Commercial Driver License (CDL) - A or B with N-tanker endorsement and acceptable driving record. X-Hazmat a plus.
• Must pass background check and DOT drug screen / DOT physical.
• Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
• Adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
• Work may involve substances commonly found on road construction sites (oil, grease, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt concentrate at hot temperatures).
• Shifts may vary; must be able to work nights and weekends and overtime when required.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Understand and execute paving procedures following project standards.
• Able to snap or screw on spray bars to attain required width of spray; turn on valve to regulate flow and adjust height of spray bar from road surface.

• Constant physical effort including standing and sitting during a regular shift.
• Must stoop, bend, and crouch as required; frequently walk on uneven surfaces and climb in/out of truck or on/off equipment.
• Ability to lift/carry 10 to 50 pounds frequently.
• Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, controls, and levers.
• Maintain alertness to multiple concurrent activities on a road construction site.
• Work environment may include high levels of noise and dust.
