Job DescriptionCome join the staff at OU HSC and become a part of Oklahoma's premier research university which leads the state in education and career opportunities.
Responsibilities- Writing and/or editing messages from the chair’s office to faculty, staff, and trainees
- Drafting letters for the Department of Medicine Chair
- Working with requesting parties to ensure understanding of project needs and gathering a sense of the target audience
- Interviewing faculty, staff and trainees to feature their work and share their experiences.
- Posting social media content about the department on Linked In and X to increase the national standing
- Ensuring that messaging is accurate, clear, and fits within branding guidelines
- Attending meetings
- Performing various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field AND 36 months of experience in writing, editing, and print or digital publications.
Required Skills- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient in copy writing, editing, proofreading and composition
- Knowledge of different media sites or sources
- Ability to be organized and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
