Executive Medical Director for Solid Organ Transplant Program
OU Health, Oklahoma’s only comprehensive academic health system, invites a senior physician leader to oversee the strategic, clinical, and academic advancement of solid organ transplantation services across the health system.
OverviewOperating in a dyad leadership model with the Vice President of Transplant Services, the Executive Medical Director will drive clinical excellence, program growth, and operational integration while serving on the Adult Services Leadership Team.
Responsibilities- Shape departmental structure, designate organ programs, and manage shared services in quality, access, regulatory oversight, research, and organ procurement.
- Report to the Department Chair (surgery or medicine) and the President of Adult Services while collaborating with senior executives (CPE, COO, CMO).
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team to strengthen clinical and academic services and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Position OU Health as the premier transplant center regionally and develop a strategy to attract a high volume of adult and pediatric transplants.
- Physician whose training is in medicine or surgery with deep experience in transplant leadership and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Prior engagement in an academic medical center setting is strongly desired.
- Strong clinical, research, and academic program development background in solid organ transplantation.
