This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan repayment program. Eligible candidates must meet VHA policy criteria, submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment, and meet program approval and eligibility period requirements. Former EDRP participants are ineligible.

Applicants must meet the basic requirements listed below and any additional qualifications applicable to the role.

• U.S. Citizenship (non‑citizens only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited).
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from a VA‑approved medical school.
• Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Completed residency in an EPA‑approved core specialty program leading to board certification. Accepted residencies include ACGME, AOA, or qualified foreign residencies with ≥5 years of U.S. practice.
• Board certification in Otolaryngology preferred; experience with accredited U.S. otolaryngology residency and fellowship training in head‑and‑neck surgery, microvascular free‑flap, otology, or rhinology/sinus/skull‑base surgery required.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Full‑licensed physician (not a training license). Resident physicians in ACGME/AOA programs may be appointed as “Physician Resident Providers” on an intermittent or fee basis but are not independent practitioners.
• Pass a pre‑employment physical and meet physical requirements (walking, standing, reading, hearing, emotional stability, blood exposure).

• Provide educational instruction and training for University of Oklahoma residents/fellows assigned to surgery rotations at the VA.
• Review medical history and conduct detailed physical examinations.
• Interpret laboratory and diagnostic results.
• Diagnose otolaryngology conditions and assist or perform procedures in the operating room and clinical areas.
• Assess and treat diseases of the ear, nose, and throat.
• Perform screening examinations – complete history & physical exams and progress notes.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe inpatient and outpatient medications and write appropriate orders.
• Participate in on‑call rotations.

  Full‑time – Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (schedule negotiable).
