LEAP Support (Student Registration) Specialist

Partnering with more than 28 agencies, CLC delivers essential programs, including basic literacy, English as a Second Language (ESL), and workplace learning, to better equip adults for success in their personal and professional lives.
Summaryof Position
Responsible for managing and completing registration and placement testing and accurately placing students in all Community Literacy Centers’ classes: ESL, U.S. Citizenship, ABE, and HiSET. Serves as the first point of contact for prospective students, providing support through the application and enrollment process. Administers placement testing to assess students and assign them to the appropriate class level. Works closely with instructors and staff to ensure smooth transitions and clear communication for all incoming students.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and review registration forms for all CLC classes.
- Contact prospective students and assist them throughout the registration process, including completing forms as needed.
- Schedule, administer, and score placement tests to determine appropriate class levels.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information and test results.
- Serve as the primary liaison between students, instructors, and administrative staff during the enrollment cycle.
- Coordinate with instructors to ensure timely class assignments and effective communication regarding placement.
- Provide ongoing support to students throughout the registration and placement process.
- Assist with questions and resolve issues related to registration and testing.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in education, experience in social services, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience working in adult education, literacy programs, or community-based organizations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support and guide adult learners.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting needs during peak enrollment periods or special events.
- Ability to administer assessments and interpret results accurately.
- Proficiency with database systems and standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, MS Office).
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Hybrid work setting with both remote and on‑site responsibilities.
- In-person presence required periodically for placement testing, staff meetings, special events, and other duties not limited to these.
- May involve occasional lifting, moving of materials, or setting up for events.
- Flexibility with work schedule required; willing and able to work occasional evenings or weekends.
