Position SummaryThe Facilitator/Career Coach supports programs within Public Strategies that develop, inform, and implement strategies for low‑income and disadvantaged families, including Work Ready Oklahoma (WRO). Using a strength‑based approach, the coach helps clients access resources to alleviate participation barriers, connects them to supplemental services, and supports goals related to relationships, parenting, and job readiness.
The role involves working with participants in group settings and one‑on‑one to identify barriers, strengths, and goals, and reinforce skills learned in workshops. The coach also provides information, referral, and follow‑up to facilitate participation in program services such as job search, vocational training, educational services, job retention, and barrier removal. Documentation of all communication and services is required for reporting.
Essential Job Functions- Lead small group activities and individual discussions that reinforce workshop content.
- Guide participant groups through the assessment process to determine skill level, industry experience, and training needs.
- Offer assistance for light to moderate caseloads using case‑management principles in both group and individual settings.
- Reinforce curriculum and develop individual plans with participants.
- Collaborate with employment and training teams to maintain awareness of available opportunities.
- Coach, guide, and support participants on the training and employment pathway that best supports their self‑sufficiency goals.
- Assist with enrollment into partner programs to enhance job readiness and employability.
- Assist with resume and cover letter development, identify employment opportunities, and support the application and interview process.
- Coordinate supports that reduce barriers and assist the participant with workshop attendance, program activity participation, and job search; make referrals to partnering agencies as appropriate.
- Provide feedback to program staff and leaders on participants’ responses to workshop content and activities.
- Assist with other activities that help participants with job search and learning activities, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
