Construction Technologies Instructor non tenure-track

Overview

Construction Technologies Instructor - 9 month, non tenure-track at OSU-OKC. The role focuses on developing students' critical thinking and mastery of the subject matter to help them become positive members of the community.

• Teach a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours per semester for laboratory classes or fifteen (15) credit hours for non-laboratory classes or equivalent service. This may include evening instruction.
• Maintain student and course records with updates on the learning management system.
• Maintain and file current course outlines, objectives, and grading procedures for all courses.
• Advise and assist students in selecting appropriate academic courses.
• Post and keep office hours per institutional guidelines.
• May include lead instructor duties.
• Implement the institutionally recommended strategies for retention.
• Implement the assessment model.
• Serve on special projects and committees.
• Assist in the designing/revising of courses and curricula.
• Exhibit innovative and adaptive instructional methods.
• Complete all mandatory training and participate in RPT recommended level of professional development each year.
• Fulfill all faculty requirements as noted in the Faculty Handbook.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in construction management discipline or related area.

• Teaching Competence – Ability to create lesson plans, content, presentations, and assignments; assess student learning and progress.
• Communication skills – Clear verbal and written communication in English; ability to prepare complex reports and interact with various stakeholders.
• Computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems; email and internet.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; strong organizational skills.
• Professionalism and ethical conduct consistent with OSU-OKC and OSU brand.

• Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Canvas.
• College-level teaching experience or equivalent.

• Flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
• Office and classroom environment with significant public contact, in person and via electronic communication.

• Extended periods of sitting, talking, and listening.
• Extensive use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
• May require lifting up to 25 lbs; for objects heavier than 45 lbs, a two-person lift is required.
