Adult Educator

Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Adult Educator to join our team at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. The Adult Educator will conduct and administer various classroom courses, ensuring high-quality education and training for Air Traffic Control (ATC) students. The Adult Educator may serve as the primary instructor for courses but will be paired with a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) who provides real‑life scenarios and subject‑matter expertise.

• Conduct and administer classroom courses at the FAA Academy
• May serve as the primary class instructor, collaborating with a CPC
• Participate in Instructional System Design (ISD) projects, including the development, revision, and maintenance of ATC training courses
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) along with a teaching certification
• OR a master’s degree in higher education from an accredited college or university

• Candidates will receive FAA general and course‑specific training
• Must become certified by the FAA to meet specific defined job duties and responsibilities
• US Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

• Proven experience in teaching or educational roles, particularly in adult education
• Strong understanding of instructional methodologies and curriculum development

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with subject‑matter experts
