POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Power Production Technician supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Power Production Technician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical power systems and equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient power generation. The Power Production Technician works with various power sources like coal, gas, hydro, solar, wind, and nuclear. The Power Production Technician operates and monitors generators, conducts routine maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs equipment, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Installs, removes, and operates electrical power generating and control systems, including generators, turbines, boilers, and switch gear.
- Diagnoses and repairs problems with power generation equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Operates and monitors generators, adjusts controls, and monitors performance indicators to ensure a continuous and reliable power supply.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Tests systems for efficiency and output, conducts inspections and quality checks, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Communicates with customers and management, prepares reports, and maintains accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Follows all safety protocols and ensures compliance with relevant regulations.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Power Generation Technician or in a related field preferred (e.g., diesel mechanic, electrical technician).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in power generation, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engines, electrical systems, and control panels.
- Familiarity with generator brands such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, or similar.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
EXPERIENCE:
- CDL is a plus.
- An associate's degree in industrial electronics, instrumentation/controls, or production/process technology is often preferred or required.
