The Reliability Engineer at Devon is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of equipment and assets. This role focuses on analyzing failures, implementing preventive measures, and optimizing maintenance strategies to maximize asset reliability and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities- Analyze equipment performance data and failure trends to identify root causes.
- Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs.
- Reduce unplanned downtime and improve asset availability and reliability.
- Reduce costs through optimized maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve asset reliability.
- Consider and quantify reliability engineering-specific risks in decision-making, collaborate on cross-discipline risk initiatives, and provide detailed technical recommendations with business implications to leadership.
- Lead failure investigations and corrective action processes.
- Monitor and report on key reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, etc.).
- Support the selection and specification of new equipment with reliability in mind.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices to enhance equipment efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Continuously grow in knowledge and skills while gaining experience completing tasks gradually increasing in scope and complexity, collaborating seamlessly across disciplines, and actively seeking mentorship for gradual task escalation and complexity.
- Travel to field locations is required, including production sites, refineries, processing plants, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in reliability, maintenance, or engineering roles, preferably in Oil & Gas or related industries.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with reliability tools (FMEA, RCA, RCM, Weibull analysis).
- Proficiency with CMMS and reliability software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards (API, ISO, etc.).
