Overview
The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization seeks an Experienced or Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer for the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.
Position Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of E-7A design and engineering principles to assess and resolve operational issues through the aircraft's lifecycle.
- Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness.
- Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
- Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.
- Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and direct the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
- Support system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.
- Train others.
- Work under general direction.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences.
- Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels, Hydraulic Systems and/or Flight Controls.
- Able to create, execute, review, and manage structural design models.
- 5+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables.
- 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- 5+ years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, Solid Works, Siemens NX).
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
- Experience validating or verifying Hydraulic Systems, Fuel Systems, Flight Controls, Actuation and Controls.
- Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
- Experience with analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

3) – $88,400 – $119,600. Lead (Level
4) – $107,100 – $144,900.
Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
