Junior Applications Software Engineer

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Applications Software Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/HB). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Digital (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies.

AFLCMC/PEO Digital Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.

This is a full-time position located at Tinker AFB, OK.

• Resolve unique or novel problems, conditions, or issues; or significantly alter standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and known techniques
• Provide expert advice to professional colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations
• Provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods
• Execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs
• Exercise judgment and ingenuity in evaluating the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, or applications
• Investigate, predict, and anticipate issues and conditions extending beyond a single specialty area, and affecting known standards, approaches, precedents, or concepts
• Develop or collaborate in the formulation of new standards, applications, concepts, or theories changing existing knowledge and extending an understanding of phenomena
• Assess and carry out strategies and actions to affirm the integrity, economy, quality, and effectiveness of engineering, or scientific programs, and
• Advocate recommendations, strategies, and actions to reconcile or resolve novel, conflicting, or controversial issues or policies
• Knowledge of construction, environmental and structural principles and techniques is required. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desired but not required
• ISSO/ISSM duties as assigned to support C2

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a professional accredited educational program and at least 1-3 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed.

Preferred experience:

• DoD experience
