Job Title

Aircraft Maintenance D - A&P Mechanic

Job Summary

Location:

Oklahoma City, OK (Onsite).

Schedule:

Rotating Shifts; 5/8 – Mission Dependent. The A&P Mechanic is responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of all aircraft systems including turbine engines, propellers, airframes, flight controls, landing gear, and engine rigging. Duties also include inspections, corrosion control, cleaning, fueling, and component repair.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Maintain Air Tractor 802U aircraft in support of aircrew missions.
  • Launch and recover aircraft, including tie‑down, cover, and plug removal/installation, and perform required inspections to ensure airframe structure and power plant serviceability.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft components. Perform functional checks of fuel, hydraulic, engines, avionics, and electro‑environmental systems.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) established procedures/specifications.
  • Use applicable technical data and manuals when performing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting aircraft/system discrepancies.
  • Perform in‑progress and follow‑up inspections during and upon completion of maintenance actions.
  • Research, order, and receive aircraft parts.
  • Prepare parts for turn‑in back into the supply system and initiate material deficiency reports as required.
  • Maintain hand and special tools in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Account for site, customer, and company tool accountability procedures, reporting unserviceable tools and equipment to the appropriate responsible party.
  • Annotate equipment/tools inspection and condition documents.
  • Perform serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non‑powered support equipment.
  • Comply with established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Assist in training newly assigned personnel as required.
  • Operate vehicles, both special purpose and regular, as authorized.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Assist personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining their reparability and serviceability.
  • Monitor bench stock items and tool inventory inspections.
  • Assist in aircraft movement flight line FOD prevention walks as required.
  • Complete maintenance documentation using required forms.
  • Service aircraft with fuel, oil, grease, hydraulic fluid, air, oxygen, and nitrogen.
  • Perform aircraft corrosion control inspections/ procedures to include washing, wiping down, polishing, and vacuuming.
  • Discuss discrepancies with aircrews to secure adequate troubleshooting information and flight data.
  • Other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all required Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures.
  • Possess in‑depth knowledge of aircraft safety directives.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Have in‑depth knowledge of flight line operations including aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards.
  • Possess in‑depth knowledge of using aircraft technical publications, reading and interpreting scheme diagrams, drawings, and charts.
  • Have strong working knowledge of maintenance database technology.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts as assigned, travel, and deploy as part of a maintenance recovery team if required (CONUS and OCONUS deployment may be required).
  • Willingness and ability to work in the established OCONUS work/living environment, work shift schedules as assigned 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements.
Qualifications
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary/Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate (A&P license).
  • Ability to complete/pass a required DCMA physical exam and CRC course prior to OCONUS deployment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Valid U.S. Passport.
Preferred Additional Skills
