MEP Designer – Construction

Job Description - Overview

Hobby Lobby is currently searching for a MEP Designer!

• Work directly with Architects and Engineers in design of the Mechanical and Electrical systems at different projects
• Review/Understand National/Local Codes to ensure corporate standards stay up to date with requirements
• Review Construction Documents to ensure plans & specifications communicate the overall design and corporate standard accurately
• Review and approve MEP equipment submittals for accuracy
• Assist the Property Management/Utilities group as needed with Mechanical and Electrical questions for maintaining stores
• Review Project Closeout documents for Mechanical install
• Assist Superintendents and Project Managers during build out of projects with MEP related items
• Coordinate Energy Management System design and installation with EMS Vendor, A&EFirm, and Field

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:

• A Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree or equivalent practical experience in the same related fields
• Energy Management knowledge and experience a plus.
• Computer skills with software proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Inter-personal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to handle additional tasks as needed
