Join to apply for the Transportation CAD Technician role s opportunity is located in our downtown Oklahoma City, OK office and focuses on transportation design projects for the Oklahoma DOT, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, and local municipal transportation/roadway projects. The position supports other disciplines and projects through our Central States Office and firmwide transportation practice.

This is a moderately supervised position at a proficient level in a team environment, with primary responsibilities including preparing drawings with CADD, assisting in other aspects of plan preparation, information gathering, processing survey data, and creating exhibits for use in meetings, generally related to roadways and transportation projects.
The position will be located in our downtown Oklahoma City office.
What You’ll Do- Prepares construction details, design plans, reports, and relevant project-related materials utilizing computer aided drafting, design software and various other computer software packages.
- Transfers information in numerical, written and sketched, or electronic format from sources such as legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs and computer files to final plans and maps.
- Develops and implements custom automated drafting and design procedures under supervision.
- Identifies errors, problems, or non-standard situations and suggests alternatives.
- Assists in the evaluation of new drafting/design procedures and/or software.
- Visualizes and illustrates concepts or designs in 2D or 3D, using mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or
- Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or
- In lieu of education, 4 years of relevant experience
- Ability to interpret and work from design sketches to produce an intended drawing or detail with some supervision
- Familiarity with transportation terminology
- Ability to express your ideas and questions clearly with the design team
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly become proficient in Bentley Micro Station software (Open Roads, InRoads)
- Openness to applying skills to new and different processes
- Good time management skills
- Good communication skills
- 2 years of experience with transportation/roadway projects
