Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on FPGA / Embedded Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Oklahoma City. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of FPGA hardware, digital design, embedded software, and system-level engineering. The successful candidate will design, develop, integrate, test, and troubleshoot FPGA-based digital systems and embedded hardware/software solutions. You will work closely with electrical, firmware, software, and systems engineers throughout the product lifecycle—from initial requirements and architecture through prototype development, validation, and production.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of challenging engineering problems and contribute directly to the development of high-performance, reliable electronic systems.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, simulate, implement, and verify FPGA-based digital systems.
  • Develop RTL using VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog.
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, implementation, timing analysis, and design optimization.
  • Develop and integrate embedded C/C++ software for FPGA, processor, and hardware interfaces.
  • Support hardware/software integration, system bring-up, debugging, and validation.
  • Work with FPGA development environments and tool chains such as AMD/Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Quartus, and/or Microchip Libero.
  • Develop engineering scripts and automation using Python, Tcl, Bash, or similar tools.
  • Translate system requirements into practical hardware and firmware implementations.
  • Troubleshoot problems across RTL, FPGA timing, embedded software, hardware interfaces, and system-level functionality.
  • Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/debug tools, and other test equipment to diagnose hardware and system issues.
  • Participate in prototype development, design verification, validation, and transition to production.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, design specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the complete product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to automated build, test, and verification processes where appropriate.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional experience developing FPGA-based digital systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one hardware description language: VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog.
  • Experience with FPGA development workflows, including RTL design, simulation, synthesis, implementation, timing analysis, and verification.
  • Experience with embedded C/C++ and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience with at least one major FPGA development environment, such as: AMD/Xilinx Vivado or Vitis, Intel Quartus, Microchip Libero.
  • Strong understanding of digital design, FPGA architecture, timing, simulation, and verification.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with electrical, firmware, software, and systems engineering teams.
  • Ability to work hands-on with hardware during development and system integration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional FPGA, digital design, embedded systems, or closely related engineering experience.
  • Experience with FPGA-based SoC architectures.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx Zynq, Versal, or similar FPGA/SoC platforms.
  • Experience with high-speed digital interfaces and communication protocols.
