EY Private Tax is a growing practice focused on serving privately held companies, from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. The role provides opportunities to work on technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects with ample training and potential progression to senior manager.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Support senior managers through partners in providing tax services for U.S. partnerships, including preparation and review of federal and state tax returns and foreign reporting requirements for cross-border tax compliance.
- Provide tax research, draft memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services.
- Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers.
- Liaise with other service lines and subject matter professionals; build long-term client relationships and understand their needs to tailor services.
- Explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients; maintain and share technical knowledge and best practices.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals; review work and ensure access to necessary tools and opportunities for growth.
- Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with tax, business, or financial planning experience.
- CPA certification or bar membership.
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills; ability to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization.
- Willingness to travel and work in a balanced hybrid environment.
- Commitment to continuing learning.
- Proficiency with tax software (RIA, CCH Intelli Connect, One Source, BNA, Lexis Nexis).
- Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus.
- Experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues.

- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package; base salary range for this job in all US locations is $106,500 to $195,100. NYC Metro, WA, and CA ranges are higher. Total Rewards include medical/dental, pension and 401(k), and paid time off.
- Hybrid work model with most client-serving roles expected to work in person 40-60% of the time.
