The primary purpose of the tax accountant role is to research, analysis and compliance for the Love families and companies. Research includes federal and state income tax issues and other topics as needed. Compliance includes the timely completion and filing of income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, annual reports and responding to various income tax notices received from tax authorities.

• The major responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to those listed below:
• Prepare income tax returns as well as quarterly estimates as needed
• Assist with IRS and state audits
• Review fixed assets for tax purposes (assure proper tax life and method selected, maximize annual depreciation or deduction)
• Help identify tax savings opportunities throughout the tax return process, including state income tax and credit research
• Assist with process improvement and efficiencies across the tax function

• High School degree or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• CPA licensed in Oklahoma or CPA candidate in Oklahoma (a plus)
• 1+ years public or corporate tax experience a plus but not required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; possess the ability to learn new software applications, particularly tax preparation software
• Strong oral and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, team player, ability to work independently and deal with confidential information, ability to work long hours as needed especially during spring and fall tax preparation
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision
• Possible evening/weekend work
