This Is What You’ll Do- Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain highest production standards.
- Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values and culture.
- Keep the work area clean and professional.
- Review and confirm donor identification, maintain confidentiality per SOPs.
- Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
- Label and ensure accurate labeling of each unit and sample.
- Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Operate the automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to and evaluate all machine alarms and alerts, document donor adverse events, and record exceptions.
- Monitor donor conditions, using techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality.
- Maintain proper ratio to ensure donor safety and product quality.
- Disconnect donors and manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols, including cleaning of spills.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated machines and replace equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records, including machine logs.
- Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management.
- Maintain and stock adequate inventory; replenish supplies on plasma carts.
- Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
- Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform regular quality checks (daily/monthly).
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- State-based certification or licensing as required.
- Minimum 3 months of experience in a medical or health care environment, or equivalent education and experience.
- Complete training documentation prior to independent duties.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Accurate and complete documentation.
- Read and interpret documents including safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Effective in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, full effort during shift, and flexibility with schedule.
- Availability for daytime, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts.
- Ability to perform venipuncture.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Pull or lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.
- Utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Use video display terminal less than 18 inches from face for extended periods.
- Work in temperatures as low as
-40°C per SOPs. - Perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills.
- Use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
