PositionDesktop Support Technician I
Description of Duties- Perform installation of PCs, printers, scanners and other computer equipment and peripherals.
- Install terminals, PCs, printers, and other computer equipment.
- Install cabling for computer and network related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity, hardware and software issues.
- Install, test, and repair networking equipment.
- Assist with projects involving usage of PC software.
- Perform backup of network servers.
- Contact manufacturers for technical support and warranty issues.
- Maintain, inventory, and utilize salvaged parts and equipment from surplus stock.
- Maintain records on equipment service reports and user service requests.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience working with personal computers.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Heavy lifting and heavy carrying required.
- Ability to reach above shoulder.
- Ability to climb ladder.
- Periods of time spent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to type and operate small instruments and equipment.
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience working with computer related communications.
