IT Analytics Engineer

Job Summary

The IT Analytics Engineer develops data-driven solutions to unlock insights, automate processes, and ultimately improve business performance. This includes developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise datasets, dashboards, reports, and analytical tools. The IT Analytics Engineer will also leverage various Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence technologies to develop, train, and deploy agents to enhance productivity and unlock new capabilities for business users.

• Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines that combine data from multiple sources, transform it into usable formats, and deliver it to business users to consume within BI tools, industry software, or on an ad-hoc basis.

• Rapid, hands-on development of new datasets & analytical solutions using SQL, Spotfire, and Power BI.

• Work with AI frameworks to develop, fine-tune, and deploy intelligent agents that automate tasks and deliver contextual insights.

• Collaborate with varying levels of engineers, geologists, and management to effectively gather data/reporting requirements and build analytical datasets, visualizations, and tools.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and analytics. Apply new knowledge to enhance the creation of standardized datasets and reports.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipeline tasks to maximise performance.

• Document processes, data models, and agent behaviours to support transparency and scalability.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across different sources and systems.

• Understands data modelling and data integration principles and techniques.

• Use SQL to retrieve data from systems, create integrated datasets using CTEs and/or subqueries, update data within systems, and create data tables and views within CLR’s data warehouse.

• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake).

• Ability to navigate the data models of Continental’s primary data sources, including Aries, Well View, Pro Count, SAP, Planning Analytics, eGIS, WLM, IHS and Enverus.

• Meticulous approach to data accuracy, ensuring precision in data extraction, transformation and loading processes.

• Understands E&P operations, drilling, completions, production, reservoir and geoscience data types.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools and business processes in a dynamic industry environment.

• Ability to quickly break down business problems and requests into solvable components to deliver results efficiently.

• Ability to troubleshoot and optimise queries and datasets created by others.

• High School Diploma or GED

• Intermediate skills within SQL with the ability to retrieve data from systems, create integrated datasets using CTEs and/or subqueries, update data within systems, and create and manage data tables and views within Databricks.

• Intermediate skills within Spotfire and Power BI with the ability to use existing projects, inherit and enhance existing projects, and create new projects from scratch, leveraging multiple data sources.

• An acceptable pre‑employment background and drug test.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related degree.
