Currently enrolled in OCCC’s Computer Science program.

Work Hours:

Between 8 AM-5 PM; to be determined by availability.

General Description

Student Computer Support Technician Assistant provides assistance to Computer Support Technicians resolving problems and providing technical support for approved computer software and hardware; also assists Audio Visual Services Technicians for audio-visual hardware and equipment setup.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare computers for deployment including software and hardware installation.
  • Perform installation and setup of computers and audio-visual equipment and technology for use by students and employees.
  • Provide routine and emergency maintenance of desktop and audio-visual technology.
  • Serve as on-call computer and audio-visual support technician.
  • Maintain accurate service records and document work performed using ticketing system.
  • Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
  • Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
  • Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
  • Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
  • Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work with others as a team.
  • Must have one (1) year experience using and maintaining Windows OS.
  • Must be capable of performing physical demands: lift up to 50 pounds; frequent moving, standing, operating computer, repetitive hand motions, etc.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Medium work: occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force, and frequently exert up to 20 pounds, up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Frequent movement across OCCC campuses.
  • Frequent communication with faculty, staff, students and others; accurate information exchange.
  • Frequent standing, stationary work; operating computer and other office machinery.
  • Frequent repetitive hand motions; positioning to grasp, move, lift, push, pull or inspect equipment.
  • Frequent access to materials above head or at ground level.
  • Requires visual acuity: judge, observe, assess accuracy; discern color and shapes.
  • Indoor office, classroom, theater, computer storage room; close quarters, small enclosed rooms, narrow aisles or passageways.
