Travel:
Occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• License to practice law in the State of Oklahoma.
• Active membership of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
• Minimum nine (9) years of legal experience, including at least two years in a supervisory position.
• No substitutions will be allowed for active membership in the State Bar of Oklahoma.

• Represent the agency and individual employees in state and federal litigation, as well as administrative matters and hearings.
• Handle constitutional and civil rights actions, with emphasis on 1983 litigation.
• Provide daily advice and counsel to divisions within the Department of Human Services and supervisors and managers throughout the agency.
• Manage a full litigation caseload.
• Represent the agency and its employees in both administrative and judicial matters involving complex factual or policy issues.
• Advise on law, regulations, and court opinions; prepare recommended guidance outlining facts and applicable law; and direct or act as second-chair for all assigned cases from inception to settlement or judgment, including filing necessary motions and conducting discovery.
• Perform other duties assigned by the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or Litigation Section Chief.
• Active membership in the State Bar of Oklahoma and at least seven years’ experience in the practice of law, including two years in trial or administrative law is strongly preferred.
