Legal Secretary
Labor & Employment Paralegal – McAfee & Taft
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Salary Range: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00
Position SummaryThe Labor & Employment Paralegal supports multiple attorneys in the firm with a high degree of responsibility for project management and implementation.
Essential Functions- Prepare, review, edit, proofread, and file technical and legal documents
- Receive and distribute mail, prepare outgoing mail
- Electronic Case Filing (ECF) for federal and state courts
- Prepare court filings for state and federal cases
- Prepare depositions (create exhibit binders, conduct background searches)
- Review daily dockets for potential new cases and clients
- Organize and maintain case files, attorney notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and other materials
- Coordinate and communicate with clients and opposing counsel
- Maintain calendars and schedules for attorneys
- Team approach to workload with attorneys and other paralegals
- Prepare and execute client invoices; track collections and billing
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation (travel, motions, exhibits, experts, witnesses)
- Administratively support firm business development
- Draft and edit pleadings (complaints, counterclaims, third‑party complaints, motions to dismiss or strike)
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for client trainings
- Prepare for Labor & Employment seminars and events throughout the year
- Coordinate and track project activities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education:
Preferred – Associate’s degree in paralegal or legal studies; equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of legal experience; 4+ years preferred.
Skilled with MS Office Suite and related office products.
Certificates & LicensesParalegal certification from an ABA‑approved program preferred.
