Director of Dealership Accounting - 5th Street Position Summary
The Director of Dealership Accounting is responsible for directly leading the accounting function of all dealerships with a focus on profitability, internal controls, asset management, and cash planning. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies and other lender requirements.

- Lead the Accounting Managers/Controllers in a centralized location environment including building and maintaining relationships with each store manager surrounding financial reporting.
- Ensure team meets overall accounting goal of providing timely and accurate financial reporting by meeting all deadlines provided.
- Recruits and grows internal accounting talent for future growth.
- Develops accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations for strategic thinking and direction, and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Establishes accounting strategies by evaluating trends, establishing key performance indicators, and designing processes to effectively run the overall financial accounting needs of the organization as related to the dealerships.
- Assist finance team in annual budgeting process by providing comparison data on expense elements.
- Review monthly EOM financials and internal reporting including trial balances and MIS reporting to ensure accuracy and provide analysis on expenses.
- Supports organization financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations to both accounting and operational teams.
- Maintains sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations including working with corporate controller on cash needs/uses.
- Recommends internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities and identifies training needs surrounding these areas.
- Maintains the accounting policy and procedures manual.
- Ensures simple, standardized, consistent and transparent accounting across all companies while minimizing financial mistakes.
- Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication.
- All other related duties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are the minimum degrees, certifications, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position.
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting.
- MBA or 10 - 15 years of combined Public Accounting and Regional Controller with public company preferred.
- Prior management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, and financial reporting required.
- 7 to 10 years automotive industry experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license without restrictions that affects your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicle.
- Must be able to drive to company locations.
