Shop Technician

SUMMARY

The Shop Technician is an important member of the manufacturing team and is responsible for assembling and fabricating parts and operating machinery.

• Reads blueprint or job order for product.
• Assemble and/or fabricate parts. Operate machinery as required.
• Able to use basic hand tools and calibrators.
• Verifies that parts are of high quality and exceed customer's expectations.
• Assembles or fabricates parts to print.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
