Power Equipment Operator; OKC Part-time; Weekdays 2nd shift

Power Equipment Operator (OKC) Part-time (4-8PM Weekdays) $16.50 + $1.50 (2nd shift)

Join Scholastic as a Warehouse Power Equipment Operator. This part‑time seasonal role supports the company’s annual book fair events, handling product transportation, inventory management, and customer service tasks. The shift runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on weekdays.

• Operate battery‑operated or gas‑powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, stock pickers, wave work‑assist vehicles, counterbalanced trucks, reach trucks) to transport product within the facility.
• Follow all power equipment rules, regulations, and OSHA policies.
• Wearing all personal protective equipment at all times when operating equipment.
• Adhere to facility safety rules and regulations.
• Use scanner for cycle‑counts, replenishment, item inquiry, and inventory put‑away.
• Ensure product is stacked neatly and safely in racks or staging areas.
• Maintain accurate inventory movement.
• Inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and report unsafe conditions.
• Handle merchandise carefully to avoid damage.
• Participate in Physical Inventory and warehouse sale events.
• Meet production, accuracy, and quality standards consistently.
• Assist with processing returned book fairs and unpacking displays.
• Assist in picking and packing customer reorders.
• Keep work area neat, clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform seasonal inventory resets with coworkers.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks (may use mechanical devices).
• Use warehouse equipment and tools safely, reporting any issues immediately.
• Use proper lifting, packing, and handling techniques.
• Complete Labor Data Collection Cards accurately and on time.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality as required.
• Maintain a courteous and positive relationship with coworkers and customers.
• Comply with drug and alcohol free policy.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• Trained and licensed to operate power equipment.
• Minimum one year of power equipment operation experience for non‑internal promotions.
• Successful completion of a forklift training program required.
• Demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency with minimal errors.
• Strong team player; ability to work well with coworkers.
• Good verbal and written communication, basic math, and reading English documents.
• At least 18 years of age.

• Lift boxes up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Stand, reach above and below shoulders, squat, bend, and kneel as necessary.
• Tolerate work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
• Complete required training and maintain certification on assigned equipment.
• Pass initial and future random drug screens.
• Wear personal protective equipment correctly for tasks requiring PPE.
