Job Overview
Production Supervisor at Hubbell Gas Utility Solutions (HGUS) will develop continual product and process improvement techniques in raw material refining, manufacturing, and packaging. This role provides leadership and line management to the work cell crew, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety measures are met. Key responsibilities include supporting work order closures, performing root‑cause analysis, and maintaining production metrics. The ideal candidate has at least three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in lean manufacturing, and strong communication and leadership skills.
ADay in the Life
- Provide leadership and line management to the work cell crew, coordinating workloads and ensuring production targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met.
- Aid in ensuring efficient use of people and resources while following standard work procedures and achieving quality and safety standards.
- Reinforce and lead by example the five 5’s (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices.
- Support work order closures and stock‑control transactions.
- Assist in performing root‑cause analysis and resolving problems in the work cell, keeping management fully informed.
- Participate in continuous training and development as required for the position.
- Assist management in routine performance, quality, safety, and attendance corrective actions with employees in the work cell.
- Communicate and maintain the work cell’s production metrics, reporting results to various levels of the organization.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with policy.
- Carry out incident, accident, and non‑conformity investigations and report findings.
- Interface with Production Scheduling to determine shift production schedules.
- Lead by example to build a culture of respect and teamwork for all.
- Three (3) years of progressive leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to learn and execute transactions in SAP.
- Ability to participate and lead in a team‑oriented environment.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to develop leadership skills that bring teams together.
- Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.
