JOB SUMMARYResponsible to control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, filters, and chlorinators, that supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, and auxiliary power for turbines, generators, boilers, and other power-generating plant facilities.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITYRoutine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Monitors, operates and checks equipment.
- Completes OGE Plant Operator Training Program attaining proficiency in all plant systems.
- Takes corrective action and/or initiates requests for equipment repair.
- Identifies abnormal equipment operations.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Works with other craft and plant personnel as required.
- Reads and interprets drawings and prints.
- Continually seeks process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency.
- Follows all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Performs LOTO on qualified systems.
- Performs general craft tasks, operates various industrial equipment, and uses power hand tools.
- Repairs, inspects and maintains boiler and boiler auxiliaries, turbine/generator auxiliaries, also fuel supply equipment and auxiliaries, if applicable.
- Keeps logs, records data and verbally communicates plant conditions.
- Monitors, analyzes and performs boiler and cooling water chemistry tests.
- Acquires Lock out tag out (LOTO) qualification in all plant systems.
- Utilizes SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed.
- Associate's Degree in a technical discipline;
Or - High School Diploma/GED And 1 year experience in a technical field;
Or - A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a technical field;
Or - Prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214.
