Summaryof Position
The CARE Center is seeking a dynamic and determined individual to serve as a Prevention & Outreach Coordinator. This full‑time position is responsible for managing and coordinating outreach activities to increase awareness of child abuse in the Oklahoma County metro area. This individual will educate both adults and children on child abuse prevention and speak publicly about The CARE Center frequently.
The Prevention & Outreach Coordinator will report to the Director of Prevention & Outreach but will work closely with the Marketing & Development Manager and Director of Development & Communications.
- Bachelor’s degree earned from an accredited university. Prior work experience in non‑profits, marketing, or sales preferred, but not necessary.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work in person in the Oklahoma City metro.
- Must pass a nationwide background check.
- Exceptional public speaker with the capacity to capture adult and child audiences.
- Possess a positive attitude, good judgement, and cultural sensitivity.
- Works independently and within a team environment to achieve common goals.
- Can react and adapt to changing situations appropriately.
- Can follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
- May be required to work nights and weekends as necessary.
- Public Speaking, Teaching, & Training:
- Speak publicly about programming, The CARE Center, and child abuse issues at different events as requested.
- Conduct ROAR training for children (ages 4‑8), Recognizing & Reporting Abuse presentations for adults, and other child safety‑related training as requested.
- May be asked to speak at conferences (both virtual and in‑person) over various child abuse topics.
- Outreach & Communications:
- Build relationships with local businesses, United Way partner agencies, and youth‑serving organizations to promote The CARE Center.
- Market and promote The CARE Center’s educational offerings, schedule events, and/or provide tours on a consistent basis. Expansion of educational programming and other activities may be possible and could fall under the Prevention & Outreach Coordinator’s purview.
- Represent The CARE Center at community fairs, conventions, meetings, and other speaking engagements.
- Proactively develop new contacts, conduct presentations, review leads, and deliver training proposals.
- Provide support for all CARE Center events as requested, including but not limited to:
The CARE Center’s annual Brave Ball gala, Stand Up for Kids luncheon, and Young Professionals Trivia Night. - Assist with the creation of educational marketing materials as needed.
