The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is responsible for coordinating research studies conducted by Mercy Research. Duties include volunteer recruitment, drug/device/supply inventory maintenance, interaction with physicians, nurses, office staff, patients, and clinical monitors, collection and documentation of clinical research data, training and preceptor duties, and communication with sponsors and CROs. The CRN also performs day‑to‑day operational tasks related to clinical trials and builds relationships with stakeholders.

• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma, Nursing Associate's degree or Nursing Bachelor's degree.
• Licensure:
  Registered Nurse with valid license in state of practice.
• Experience:
  
  2 years nursing experience for bachelor’s degree, 3 years for Associate’s degree or diploma program. Demonstrated experience may be gained from prior roles, completion of college degrees, or a combination of applicable professional and educational experiences.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform basic patient assessments (vital signs, spirometry, ECG, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring).
  • Excellent communication skills with healthcare professionals and public.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Mathematical proficiency and metric system knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively in groups and independently.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  Phlebotomy experience; 2 years of clinical research experience.
