Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty position on a mixed Med/Surg and Stepdown overflow unit, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

• Work in a hospital on a 3rd floor inpatient overflow unit with a mixed Med/Surg and Stepdown setting
• Patient population includes a variety of medical and surgical cases with both simple and complex conditions
• Day shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week
• Stepdown experience is preferred for this unit
• Charge nurse experience is also preferred
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care, documenting patient responses, assisting with exams and procedures, and administering prescribed medication and IV infusions
• Role includes monitoring patient physiological data and intervening when necessary
• Teamwork and the ability to delegate tasks to support staff are essential
• Strong communication skills with the ability to meet patients’ cultural and language needs are required
• A 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not eligible
• Returning employees may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month break before reapplying

• Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
