Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring at least one year of experience and a valid OK or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Post Surgical Unit within a hospital setting
- Care for post-surgical patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
- Three 12-hour day shifts per week
- No local candidates accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies
- Responsible for an assigned group of post-surgical patients including medication administration and monitoring of IV infusions and blood products
- Document patient responses and report changes
- Assist physicians with exams and minor procedures
- Collaborate with families and other healthcare staff to implement care plans and coordinate discharge
- Maintain a supportive team environment and delegate tasks to support staff
- Must be able to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a valid multistate compact RN license
- Minimum of one year RN experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
