Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit Med/Surg position, requiring an active OK or compact license and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Work in a Medicine Specialty Unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Care for a diverse patient population with a range of medical conditions from simple to complex
• Responsibilities include managing an assigned group of patients, documenting interventions, and administering medications and IV infusions
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and discharge instructions
• May delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• A six-month separation is required before reapplying for those who have completed a previous assignment extension

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum one year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
