Travel RN - Med​/Surg Float Pool

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring Med/Surg and Step Down experience and the ability to float to any hospital unit.

• Active OK or compact multistate RN license required
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Prior Med/Surg and Step Down experience required
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

• Hospital-based Med/Surg float pool position on the 3rd Floor Overflow unit
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• Days shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
